Ring is too big for it to stay tight enough to let go of the leash. Dog works it's way through it. Others have worked a lot better. These only work if holding onto it.I mean the leashes are so cheap but come with great texture!!!! I gave one of them to my friends and she loved it! I think they'd be great to use with small/medium dogs or very calm dogs. I'd use them in a pinch with larger or more hyper dogs. They're too thin and lightweight to use for my 75 pound pitbull mix who has a lot of energy even when he's calm but can also be a handful on a walk. I could never use these with him unless I had nothing else. The stitching looks solid but I'm just not confident about the durability with heavier use by a really strong animal.I do think they'd be handy for easily extending a short leash or for having on hand in the car in case of emergency with your own dog or someone else's. They'd be useful at a shelter too. You could use it as a martingale leash or could slip it through the ring on a harness or collar.This is a really well priced set of slip leads. 12 pack for under $20! They come in yellow, orange, blue, red, green and black. You get 2 of each color. This is great for me because I have many fosters coming in and out and I don’t have to concern myself with the leashes and worry about if I get them back or not. I do recommend.Bought these as an option to have to help with tugging on walks. The material is very light and seems sturdy and durable for the length of time I used it for which was 40 mins. My dog still tugs but since it’s directly on his neck I don’t have to correct him as much. I do like the fact it comes with 6 leashes for the price so I won’t feel bad if I lost one. Will give some to my dog sitter to use as well. It also have reflective dots on the entire leash so that’s good for night walks.
